Cusp off, cusp on – Predictable direct reconstruction of weakened cusps
A lot of the cusps we keep in our daily practice are actually too thin to be kept in a predictable way. Often, after a few years recall we can observe cracks or broken cusps because we didn’t execute the adequate treatment at the time.

Covering a cusp in a direct way implies creating a complex class II restoration, complicating the wall reconstruction, making us struggle with correct vertical dimension and cuspal anatomy.

In most cases we can predict or diagnose a weakened cusp and take action before it breaks off. In that case we can use the copy cusp technique to facilitate the reconstruction of complex class II restoration to a simple one.
